Our Company...Our People Warren Comeau, BA, RRP, CCRC, FCARP, CVRP President/Senior Rehabilitation Specialist Rehabilitation Alternatives Limited/Vocational Alternatives Software

Designated CCRC in 1993, Warren has been involved in Vocational Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Case Management since 1980. Warren is President and co-founder of Rehabilitation Alternatives Limited, which has been providing a spectrum of rehabilitation services in Atlantic Canada since 1992. Although involved primarily with staff mentoring, supervision and service development, Warren also handles special legal casework and assessment assignments. He has been accepted as an Expert Witness in the field of Rehabilitation by the Court of Queen's Bench, Province of New Brunswick.


Warren began serving on the National Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals as an Atlantic Director in 1992. He was a founding Director of CARP Atlantic in 1996. In 1998 Warren completed his term as the National President of CARP, and continued to serve on the Board of Directors of the CARP Atlantic Regional Society until 2005. He has also chaired and served on numerous national committees through CARP such as the Ad Hoc Committee on Scope of Practice, Professional Development and Rehabilitation Education.

Warren was Chair of the CARP/CAVEWA 1995 National Conference in Halifax; Chair of the 2001 CARP National Conference, also in Halifax. He was the Program Content Chair of the 2002 CARP National Conference held in Ottawa; was Chair of the 2003 CARP Atlantic Conference in Moncton, and chaired the 2005 CARP National Conference held in Charlottetown, where he received a 2004 CARP National Fellowship Award in recognition of distinctive and exceptional achievements in the field of rehabilitation in Canada. Warren was also on the National Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Research in Rehabilitation and has been an Associate Editor of The Canadian Journal of Rehabilitation. He is co-author, with Barry Morrison, QC of "Judging the Credibility of Witnesses" published in the Advocates Quarterly in 2002.

Mark McGovern, BA, CSW, RRP, CVRP Secretary Treasurer/Senior Rehabilitation Specialist Rehabilitation Alternatives Limited/Vocational Alternatives Software

Mark is a Registered Rehabilitation Professional who has been involved in the counselling field since 1983. He has been employed in the private sector rehabilitation field since 1987. Mark is a Co-founder and Secretary-Treasurer of Rehabilitation Alternatives Limited. Aside from administration and some supervision duties, Mark is extensively involved in casework, case management, and development of services for the legal community, both plaintiff and defense. Mark has been admitted as an Expert Witness numerous times by the Court of Queen's Bench in the Province of New Brunswick. He has been accepted in Federal Court, and in the State of Maine.

Mark has also developed and promoted the NOC based online Vocational Software, QuickNOCPro Career Guide, and has taught at universities, and in the private sector across Canada, on the use and application of the National Occupational Classification in the field of vocational rehabilitation.

Cecily van Oorschot, BA, RRP, CVRP, CCVE Managing Director, Vocational Evaluator/Rehabilitation Specialist

Cecily has a Bachelor of Arts (with distinction) in Psychology from the University of New Brunswick. She pursued studies toward a Master of Education in Counselling at the University of Western Ontario, and took courses for her Masters degree in Adult Education. Cecily's background includes working with youth in crisis as a group home consultant, providing training for the centre's staff. Cecily has been a teacher in a private school and worked as a counsellor and reality therapist with female young offenders. She has provided resident care in a senior's home and has been a personal attendant for a mobility-impaired client.

Cecily joined our team in 2001, after having been employed as a Career Counsellor and Case Manager with the New Brunswick Department of Family and Community Services. Cecily provides vocational testing and evaluation services as well as rehabilitation consulting. Her assessments include Vocational Evaluation, Loss of Earning Capacity, Transferable Skills Analysis, and Employability Assessments. She also specializes in rehabilitation case management and return to work programs. Cecily has been accepted as an Expert Witness in the Court of Queen’s Bench in the Province of New Brunswick.

Christine Hickey, BA, RRP, CVRP Rehabilitation Specialist

Christine has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. She is a Registered Rehabilitation Professional specializing in rehabilitation case management, return to work programs, as well as providing comprehensive Loss of Earning Capacity and Future Employability Assessment Reports for legal and insurance professionals. Her background in rehabilitation and counselling has served her well since joining Rehabilitation Alternatives Limited in 1996 as a Rehabilitation Consultant. Christine has been admitted as an Expert Witness by the Court of Queen's Bench of the Province of New Brunswick.

Amy Melanson, Administrative Coordinator

Amy is a committed administrative assistant skilled in office management with over seventeen years of experience. Amy is responsible for the administrative duties required to run our office including transcription and production of report documents, accounts payable and receivables as well as a host of other organizational tasks.
